The practice of Circle's distribution allowed audiences to find films that spoke from a woman's position and in many cases tried to address ideas of film language and its relevance to specifically female audiences.
Similarly, women filmmakers became part of a network of women,
began collaborations, worked on projects together and encouraged other
women in their filmmaking activities.
After I spoke to some women there, and tried to avoid others, we
watched all of Sandra's films. There is one called Serpent River, made in Ontario.
She actually made three films there, they are about a uranium mine.
