details: Stuart Croft was born in the UK in 1970 and studied Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic, Dublin NCAD and Wimbledon School of Art. In the early 1990s he lived in Berlin and completed his MA at Chelsea College of Art in 1998. His gallery-based film projects reconfigure the certainties of linear cinematic narrative, conflating popular forms of moving image with the generic structures of artists' film and video. He is developing his first feature-length film with the assistance of a research grant from the Royal College of Art, where he is Tutor and Teaching Fellow in Time-Based Art/Fine Art.
His projects have been shown in galleries in London, New York, Venice, Sydney, Cologne, Vancouver, Mexico City, Athens, Marseille, Liverpool, Cape Town, Dresden, Belfast, Stockholm, Chicago and Barcelona. Stuart Croft is represented in the UK by Fred [London] Ltd. |
