An installation tape from an exhibition of the same name in which artists were asked to respond to the Herman Melville text 'Bartleby'. This tape offers a completely empty white screen like a void, empty space. A voice like a psychomotrist lists a series of potential images which might fill the emptiness.
"The image done out in red plush
The image changing the text
On the front of an old cinema
The image tying up papers
The image a wide-eyed stare
The image is always the same
The image is always the same image
The image says keep off
The image says dance hall
The image is superimposed
On a card, a name, an address
The image of...
The image is always the same image.. "
