Three freestanding ‘room’ like structures, evoking memories of German domestic space of the 1930’s.
Each structure contained an aural component comprised of the voiced memories. Produced
in collaboration with Professor Tina Campt author of “Other Germans: Black Germans
and the Politics of Race, Gender and Memory in the Third Reich” (Michigan 2005) and Berlin
based historian Nicola Laure al-Samarai, this installation was based on the aural histories of
three Afro Germans who lived through the Third Reich.
A Site Specific Collaborative Installation made as part of ‘Der Black Atlantic’.
