Another Empire State

An examination of the relationship between the Thatcher Government and the Apartheid regime of South Africa.

A series of multimedia installations centering around a floor to ceiling crucifix construction comprised of seven television monitors on a timber frame. Each screen displays a pixilated collage of television news footage. Large scale monochrome paintings on un-primed canvas on either wall. Slide and audio installation is place in the entrance space of the gallery.

Commissioned by Battersea Arts Centre, London, as part of the exhibition Another Empire State
