The slides were a magical invocation of the ghost dancers in the ballet, itself a wild feminist adaptation of the original. Using multiple images featuring the three women in the cast, they suggested agendas way beyond the text adapted, which had them paged as victims, women who died for love. Like the rest of the show they were both funny and beautiful, an attempt to create a completely different sort of mythology.
