Time Spirals

A film made without a camera in which both image and sound are the result of the same chemical process. Raw film was spooled onto a spiral and dipped sideways into developer, so that only half the film is developed, leaving the trace of a time spiral in the image and (optical) sound. On projection we hear a decelerating sound, like someone regaining their breath. Two films are shown together, one projected inside the other.
Also in development is a film installation in which these optical sounds cause vibrations in the screen's surface onto which the film is projected.
