Filmed deep in the mountains of south Serbia, For You in Me and Me in Them to Be One is at the same time a cinematic exploration of the pictorial strategies inherent to Pavle A. Florensky's theory of the Icon and a love letter to the Sopocani Monastery's genius loci.
The monastery was Beban's artist retreat throughout the 80s.Reminiscent of Sergey Paraganov's film 'The Colour of Pomegranates', Beban's real-time performance in her beloved landscape is heavy with a promise of privileged moments accessible only if one can open up to the possibility of their mystery.
