The installation At Sea commissioned for 'Maps Elsewhere' at Beaconsfield Gallery, London explored ideas related to mapping and the anxiety of dislocation. The satellite receiver of a GPS system (used to provide a precise location based on data transmitted from a constellation of 24 satellites) was secured to an outside wall of the gallery. On the inside, diagrams generated by this activity were viewed on a small GPS screen positioned at eye level. To reach the screen the viewer had to climb a ladder to reach a balcony and then negotiate a row of boulders lined along the floor.
