'Having struggled with the disparity between filmic space and actual space around me in Depth of Field I set up the earlier footage hanging in front of the camera in the same landscape. The film frames are seen blowing in the wind, across the same landscape. Sometimes the movement of the film, losing focus and catching the light, becomes more important than the landscape it is in.'
