'Anju was made when I was first becoming aware of the possibilities of film. She was a very important friend, a painter, who always wore wonderful colours. We went out for a few hours with a camera and I filmed her amongst some silver birch trees, walking, gazing, in a place we both loved.'
'Much of the film was refilmed from the screen, exploring certain sequences and working with superimpositions. Within these processes it developed its own rhythms and became almost abstract.' AN.
