Tina Keane wrote this poem to provide the structure for her film of the same title
THE POEM IS THE STRUCTURE FOR THE FILM.
The women peered
through her opera glasses
Her gaze held and scrutinzed
the aerial ballerinas.
A figure
appears to fall
Aring of fire
lights the water
A clown juggles
golden chalices
His smile sends
a chill of remembance
The ring of the phone
A distressed voice
She said
'My girl friend has died"
SILENCE
'We are the invisable statics'
The tightrope walker
runs jumps skips
Far below
the ring of fire
echoing light
on the surface
of the water
A LEAP
A FALL
A FIGURE
Fire and liquid
a camouflage
of deviant beauty
cells flowed
and multiplied
and the banquet was over.
